This is a question I never thought I’d be asking myself, even less at the Eleague Boston Major. Unfortunately for FaZe Clan, their performance has been lacking and not representative of a Rank #2 team. The European squad barely took the win against Team Liquid and followed up their underwhelming victory with an embarrassing loss to Vega Squadron, a surprising Russian team. They managed to take a victory against Quantum Bellator Fire, another Russian team, giving them a 2-1 record coming into round 4 of the major. All in all, they can be playing much better but the question remains… can their next opponent, Natus Vincere, beat FaZe today?

Past Encounters and Value

Na’Vi beating FaZe in Best-Of-1s isn’t unheard of. In fact, the last time these two teams faced each other, Natus Vincere came out with a victory at the ESL Pro League Season 6 back in November 2017. They also managed to beat FaZe back in March 2017 at the ESL Pro League Season 5 and even took a Best-Of-3 victory at Dreamhack Las Vegas in February. Regardless, FaZe remains a strong favorite in this encounter. Na’Vi has defeated Quantum Bellator Fire and Sprout this Major and lost to Mousesports in round 2. Confidence is a huge factor in such a momentum-heavy game like CS:GO, and FaZe has been seen falling apart in the past. While there is a possibility that Na’Vi will take the victory, the safest route is to go for them to cover at least +3.5.
