Penguins and Ducks are getting into an all-out brawl for dominance at the Honda Centre this evening. Join us as we find some value in this mid-tier clash between subpar teams, and pick out your clothes wisely as the forecast calls for a slugfest alert in Anaheim.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins seem to be getting on a roll here as they visit Anaheim in an attempt to extend their winning streak. The Pittsburgh squad is 5-1 straight up in its last 6 games, which isn’t bad at all. In their last 4 games, the Penguins have defeated the New York Islanders, Boston Bruins, Detroit Redwings, and New York Rangers, with the Bruins being the only ones to score more than 2 goals against the Penguins yielding a final score of 6-5. All in all, the Penguins look great but it’s a shame this form came in so late in the season. As for injuries, there are only two players confirmed not to be available against Anaheim and those are Chad Ruhwedel and Carter Rowney who are out on upper body injuries. In their last 10 games against Anaheim, Pittsburgh has gone 7-3-0 and although their overall away record of 9-12-2 looks bad, things are starting to take shape for the Penguins.

Anaheim Ducks

Anaheim is a completely different story. They had a couple of great games back in late December and early January, beating the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 and the Vancouver Canucks 5-0 respectively, but after that, it’s all been going downhill for the Ducks. The squad showed signs of life when they defeated the Los Angeles Kings last Saturday with a final score of 4-2 and yet it isn’t enough to consider them favorites to win against the hot-red Penguins. Anaheim barely makes the cut as a decent team at home with a score of 10-8-3 and yet they’re 2-4 straight up in their last 6 games when playing the Pittsburgh at home. Patrick Evans is out with a lower-body injury and Andrew Cogliano isn’t due to come back from his suspension until the 19th for the match against the Kings. There just isn’t enough to back the Ducks here.
