It’s time for some hockey here at BetSportsCanada and tonight we’re looking at the Washington Capitals take on the New Jersey Devils for some good value out of the NHL odds. There are two possible picks here, depending on what you’re looking to get out of your juice, either go for a straight up win or an over/under. Let’s find out more.

Washington Capitals

At 28-14-3, the Washington Capitals are one of the strongest teams right now. They’ve also got a winning record when playing away at 10-8-3. In terms of totals, the Caps are at 25-20 in the league and 2-1 versus New Jersey in their last 3 games playing each other. Washington has dominated New Jersey in these encounters, not only beating them 3-0 but also nearly triplicating the scoreline and getting 5 power play goals versus the Devils’ 1. Their power play percentage is at 45.45% while New Hersey sits at 10%. Add up the fact that they got zilch injuries for tonight other than Andre Burakovsky on an illness and yet still possible to play. The Washington Capitals are looking strong here.

New Jersey Devils

Before beating the New York Islanders last Tuesday, the Devils were on a 6-game losing streak. Not so great. New Jersey strands at 23-12 in the league with a decent 12-6-3 playing at home but a terrible score against the Capitals. We mentioned it above, the head-to-head is all Washington. Cory Schneider got upgraded to available for tonight but Mirco Mueller is out with a collarbone injury, ouch! What really is interesting here is that the over/under in the league for the Devils is of 24-18-1 and 11-9-1 at home. The total has gone over in 5 of New Jersey’s last 7 games. You know what this means? We’re thinking the Over is a better and more profitable pick than the moneyline here, especially when seeing that the Devils are 6-2 straight up in its last 8 games at home.
