The Amway Center will become the stage of an epic showdown between the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers and defending Orlando Magic who are willing to take advantage of the classic Cavs’ midseason slump and cash attempt to land a win. The NBA odds are in our favor but perhaps it’s not enough to back a straight-up pick. Instead, we trust Orlando to cover the spread.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers went 4-6 in their last 10 games, meaning that they’re not back in shape from what has been a pretty bad spree for Cleveland. What really spooks bettors to back the Cavs is their 0-3 in their last 3 games playing away. As favorites, they’re 4-4 which yet again sets them as unsuccessful in their attempt to regain form. Throw Kevin Love’s injury on top of all this and it’s really easy to see how there’s no way the Cavs can win. In fact, Cleveland can’t even cover the spread. They’re 0-3 against the spread in the last 3 games vs. Orlando and they come from a crushing defeat against Houston on February 3rd to which they lost 88-120. Simply. Not. Good. Enough.

Orlando Magic

Ohhhh baby. Magic might win, seriously. But we’re not risking money on that. We play safe and we win so instead we’re putting money on the Magic covering the spread. They’re also 4-6 in their last 10 games but they’re 2-2 at home which is decent for a team of their caliber. The same thing goes for their 4-5 underdog record, which by the way is better than the Cavs, although that’s probably not surprising. What really is insane is their 8-2 record against the spread. What a stat for the Magic! After seeing them 3-0 against the spread in the last 3 games against the Cavaliers, we decided this is a no brainer.
