At 7:30 PM Eastern Time tonight, the Los Angeles Clippers step into the Barclays Center to face off against the Brooklyn Nets. We’re starting the week with a lopsided encounter between a dominant LA team in the head-to-head and a horrendous Brooklyn squad with heavy shoulders after losing 5 games in a row from February 2nd to Present Day. Can this game be their salvation?

Los Angeles Clippers

Being 5-5 in their last 10 games shouldn’t make the Clippers a favorite team but when facing an extremely underwhelming Nets, Los Angeles is in for a treat tonight. They’re a better away team, a better team at home, a better favorite and even underdog team. Even with Milos Teodosic injured, the Clippers have it way too easy tonight and that’s exactly the reason why we’re looking at the totals to cash in on this game. At 3-7 in the Over/Under, we can’t say the Clippers are an exceptional slugfest team, but seeing their last 3 games against the Nets have gone 2-1 in the O/U with both teams scoring over 100 points, then we have something to root for. The Nets have countless reasons to try hard tonight and several points in their favor to make then an Over team. Let’s look at that now.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are 1-9 in their last 10 games. Let that sink in. 1-4 at home, 0-5 away, 0-1 as favorites, and 1-8 as underdogs. Yeah, not pretty at all. Caris LeVert was downgraded to OUT not long ago too. But then this is where we start looking at motivation. The Nets come from a 5-game losing streak and even if they might be focusing on next season already, they won’t be interested in being crushed by a ‘meh’ team, so we can expect them to put up a decent fight at home. The Nets are 5-5 in the Over/Under being 3-2 at home and 2-3 away. When it comes to the head-to-head against the Clippers, they’ve got a better halftime score at 62.67 versus Clippers’ 48.67, as well as a higher field goal percentage, rebounds, 3 point shots and steals. Their play is actually more aggressive and that settles our pick for the day.
