CLUTCH MATCH, LOW SCORE, SOLID WIN FOR TORONTO

Two strong teams will meet tonight at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto when the clock hits 7:00 PM Eastern. The Tampa Bay Lightning and flying up to strike down the Toronto Maple Leafs from extending their current 3-game winning streak but can they really succeed in this mission? Or will our brothers in Toronto resist and defend their home turf?

Tampa Bay Lightning

We meant it when we said ‘strong’. At 7-3 in their last 10 games, the Lightning continues to demonstrate why they’re a top-team with solid performances at home (2-0) and away (5-3). Peter Budaj and Ondrej Palat are both out on injuries but we don’t think that will stop the Lightning from putting up a great show at the Air Canada Centre. These two teams are 2-1-0 in the head-to-head in favor of the Lightning with some pretty intense numbers. Initially, we thought this game could go Over with Tampa being 8-2 in the Over/Under and 6-2 away but then we looked at Toronto’s stats and the Head-to-Head for the last 3 games being 0-3 in the Over/Under and we completely switched gears.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Leaf Nation is superior at 8-2 in their last 10 games and although they’re 1-2-0 in their last 3 against the Lightning, the Under looks ripe at 0-3 between these two. Toronto also has a 3-6-1 Over/Under record in their last 10 games with 2-2-1 at home and 1-4 away. They’ve got some incredibly defensive tactics that can most definitely help them not only win but also keep this a low scoring game. Additionally, Joffrey Lupul is the only injured player on this roster and with the momentum gained from victories against Anaheim, Nashville, and Ottawa, Tampa simply looks like another victim Toronto is looking to cross off their list. Tonight, we take the Under in NHL.
